My personal work Affirmation experience

A happy woman at work.

I remember clearly, years ago, I was under huge pressure to finish my work before the deadline. My boss was pressuring me, and my colleagues kept interrupting me with their tasks. I recall the stress when I noticed a cup from my colleague with the text ‘I release stress, embrace calmness, and navigate challenges with ease.’ I asked her about it, and she explained to me it was a positive affirmation.

Before that, I had never even heard of it. I spent some time researching the topic and found a whole new world of stress relief. I tried combining positive affirmations with looking in the mirror and smiling at myself. It worked, but not as well as smiling at my colleagues and receiving a smile back. I finally managed to care less about the deadlines and focus more on my work. Although we didn't always get each deadline, in most cases the customer agreed that it was more important to deliver good quality than rushing it. This helped me release more stress.

In the end, I now do daily affirmations I tell myself each morning in the mirror and I have multiple small notes on my desk to remind me as well, and of course a cup ;).
